We are starting to plan our first volunteer event for 2013 Collection 18 Gives Back. We have narrowed down the selections to 3 amazing volunteer projects. Please review the below and check out the websites to see what each project is all about. Then place your vote for the volunteer project you would most like to participate in.
Senior Citizens: We would visit a retirement home in NYC. We could do arts and crafts with the residence, maybe put on a fashion show or just hang out with them talking or doing nails or whatever we feel comfortable doing with them to keep them entertained.
Habitat for Humanity: We would volunteer our time to help Hurricane Sandy victims rebuild… such as maybe painting or any light sort of construction or decorating. We would possibly set 3 dates to do this one in Brooklyn, one in NJ and one in another hard hit area. That way you can select where and what date works best for you….it all depends on what this organization really needs help with. You can check them out at www.habitatnyc.org/.
NY Rescue Mission: check them out at www.nycrescue.org/. We would volunteer our time at one of the many soup kitchens in NYC.
